ImagineFX issue 58
Imagine FX magazine

ImagineFX is embracing the exciting world of manga this issue. As well as getting Chester Ocampo to create an exclusive manga cover for us, we've also got him to take us through its creation inside the magazine.

We get under the skin of manga with some invaluable advice from Saejin Oh on drawing authentic characters, Sinad Jaruartjanapat discloses some Japanese art secrets, and we've got manga scholar Helen McCarthy to trace the history of the art form - from high street entertainment to high art.

As we were about to send this issue to print, we learnt the sad news that Frank Frazetta had died. We pay tribute to the fantasy art legend, remembering him and his great art, with the help of a handful of the myriad artists that were inspired by him.

Elsewhere, Simon Dominic takes us through a bovine fantasy composition with ArtRage's meaty natural media simulation, Dave Rapoza goes punk for his intense monster portrait, and Christian Bravery kicks off the first of a four-part series looking at his thought process and concept designs for a prospective video game.

As ever, our free DVD is packed with goodies, including six hours of exclusive video advice. It's also your last chance to enter ImagineFX's fantasy football competition, so check out the details and start reimagining your favorite players as fantasy characters for a chance to win yourself loads of great prizes.
