ImagineFX issue 54
Imagine FX magazine

Having made the hard decision to focus on pin up art this month, we were lucky enough to get the modern master of the genre Adam Hughes to provide us with this month’s exclusive cover – and we even got his top 10 tips to paint females into the bargain.

We also spoke to Louis K Meisel about the story of pin up art, paying strict attention to the art of Dave Stevens, Greg Hildebrandt and Gil Elvgren and many others, then we pinned down the Japanese airbrush legend Hajime Sorayama to tell us how he made robots sexy in the 1970s and 80s.

Elsewhere, Parisian artist Emmanuel Malin takes us through an unearthly and unnerving forest scene, from his upcoming game Beyond the Pillars, Marc Taro Holmes lays down his three laws to painting smarter and Serge Birault deconstructs his Betty Page-esq vampire vamp (this month’s exclusive subscriber’s cover).

As ever, our DVD packs a punch with trial software for Painter 11 and Photoshop CS3, 14 ZBrush meshes for when you’ve finished Scott Spencer’s ZBrush beasty workshop, and loads more…
