One question I often get asked is: “Do you have a process when you create a digital painting?” In this workshop, I’ll show you the techniques that I use to start from scratch, begin to generate an idea, block in my painting, and then take it all the way to completion. To use these techniques well, you should be proficient with Adobe Photoshop and preferably have access to a pressure-sensitive tablet, such as a Wacom Intuos – any size or model will do.
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals required to produce a strong image – composition, values, design and rendering – and how to do it quickly.
I find that there really is no substitute for having these strong fundamentals – no amount of photo references or Photoshop filters in the world will save an image if it is composed badly or boring to look at. So, are you ready? Let’s get started…
